(B&W photographs, facsimile documents) Massive book devoted to the work of the German-American film director, issued in conjunction with a exhibition and retrospective of his work presented in Torino (Spain) in 1993. In addition to the publisher, the book also bears the imprint of three organizations (Museo Nazionale del Cinema; Cinematheque Francaise; Filmoteca Generalitat Valenciana); if I'm interpreting the front matter accurately, the Museo Nazionale was the driving force behind the exhibition, with valuable assistance from the other two organzations. The text is entirely in Italian; the book was also issued in French and Spanish editions (but never in English).
