First edition, "FR" logo on copyright page. At one point, the front flap was affixed to the front endpaper. The removal left a pull on the endpaper, and the reverse of the front flap is now apparently affixed to the paper backing of the mylar. The beige background of the jacket is toned, some edgewear. Written after the first Nero Wolfe book, though published before, this Rex Stout novel is a political thriller of the disappearance of the President at a time when there is about to be a fascist takeover of America. Uncommon in jacket.
