Unbound. Near Fine. Handwritten note addressed to Mrs. Merle Prunty in Athens, Georgia. 6" x 3.75". On Taylor's personalized note card. About fine. Undated (the card was stamped but not canceled, so apparently never mailed). Taylor expresses his pleasure on their upcoming meeting in Athens: "Eleanor [Ross Taylor] will not be coming to Athens, too much gardening going just now, but I count on having dinner with you." Prunty was a friend of the Taylor's and her husband Merle was a longtime professor at the University of Georgia. Peter Taylor was one of America's best short story writers, and winner of the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the 1985 PEN/Faulkner Award.
