Esprit Stationery Kit

  • [San Francisco]: Esprit, 1980
[San Francisco]: Esprit, 1980. Near fine.. Original, bitchin' set of stationery in striking packaging - from the 1980s teenage suburban stalwart brand. Along with Benetton, Esprit helped define the bold look of 1980s popular fashion and design. To the young and the forgetful, the name may be no more than a distant name from history. But to those cursed with long and living memories, the sheer visual impact of this original stationery kit strikes like a saccharine sip of Orange Julius. A testament to the days when wearing one pair of pleated shorts over another pair of pleated shorts was a reasonable thing to do; when a pair of culottes began at the natural waist and ended at the shins; when simply putting on a puffy E S P R I T sweatshirt and bright headband was enough to summon a tennis-y gentleman in gleaming white polo shirt out of the aether to your side. From a bygone era of passing notes to to your friends, now sunk beneath oceans of texts and DMs, like another Atlantis. Esprit's designs remain influential. Iconic, as they say. Totally. 10.75'' x 10.75''. Original round ribbon-laced corrugated cardboard case. Containing ten unused leaves of (round) blank sheets of stationery. Stationery scored for easy folding (and privacy, duh), as issued. Generall clean and sound.
