Fort Richardson, Alaska: [Personnel of Fort Richardson Army Base], 1945. Very Good. Newsprint. Each issue contain eight pages. Small tabloid-sized weekly army newspaper. Approximately 30 x 46 cm. Horizontal fold, perhaps as published. Newsprint still in decent shape with usual browning. Splitting along horizontal fold on first two pages on the Feb. 9 issue.on earliest issue. Some chipping and wear in right right margins. An uncommon WWII era Army newspaper from Fort Richardson, built in the early 1940s on land adjacent to Anchorage Alaska. Emphasis in these issues is on athletic and other onbase activities and concerns. War news seems minimal. We liked the front page photos of a hockey game and a barrel jumping soldier. These issues included two comic strips ("Male Call" and "Blondie.).
