By Robinson, Wirt
Cambridge: At the Riverside Press, 1895. First edition. 8vo. x, 194pp. Blue cloth blocked in black and silver. Top edge gilt. Greyish green coated endpapers. Illustrated with photographs, and with four chromolithographs of birds by J. G. Keulemans: Toucan, Parrakeet, Partridge, and Oriole. There are maps in text and a large colored folding map of the Republic of Columbia, amd a double page map of Curaçao. Light wear to the edges, inner hinges cracked but firm, else this is a very good copy.

Presentation copy to a Mrs. H. D. Gilbert, signed by the author, as Capt., U.S. Artilery. AS this book surfaced in Tucson, it is likely that Mrs. Gilbert was the well known landscape and portrait artist and wife of H. D. Gilbert, a prominent early citizen noted for commissioning a two story bay window in his home, a rarity for its time.

A chronicle of the 1892 expeditioni to collect bird specimens in South America (principally Columbia) and Curaçao.
