Leather a bit rubbed and dried at extremities, spine label perished, brief early scribble to title page, Plate no. 1 separated but present. About Very Good overall.

Uncommon, possibly pirated, treatise by the military surgeon who served as Major Surgeon of the French fleet in Tripoli. The work includes an extensive study on amputation, accompanied by Vermale's illustrative plate signed in image by the Mannheim engraver J.G. Wissger.

Most likely a false imprint, date of publication based on the introductory "Extrait des Registres de l'Académie Royale de Chirurgie," dated 26 janvier 1733. OCLC locates no copies of this edition in North America as of February, 2026.
