Thomas Ligotti (b. 1953) has gained a following for his works of "philosophical horror", and is the recipient of three Bram Stoker awards. Per Wiki, "The Washington Post" called him "the best kept secret in contemporary horror fiction."
This work is a collection of stories in which "Grimscribe tells us of strange encounters with a multitude of characters and occurances...It is a masterpiece of psychological unease and a disturbing record of that small slice of the human brain inhabited by demons" (n.b., from the jacket flap).
Loosely laid in is a small card with Ligotti's signature.
___DESCRIPTION: Bound in full blue textured paper over boards, gilt lettering on the spine, large octavo size (9 1/2" by 6 1/4"), with 214 pp.; loosely laid into the book is a small card with an embossed image of a skeleton with notations, on the verso is Ligotti's signature in black ink. The dust jacket has the original price of GBP 13.95, a summary on the front flap and author bio on back flap, review blurbs on the back panel for "Songs of a Dead Dreamer".
___CONDITION: Volume fine, the boards clean, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, and as new. The laid-in card is fine, clean and without wear, the signature clear. The jacket fine, clean, without wear and not sunned, without noticeable edgewear.
