Note: The Ashendene Press, one of the great English private presses of the period alongside the Kelmscott Press and the Doves Press, is celebrated for its stately typography and uncompromising craftsmanship. Of the press' 132 books, nine were biblical in subject.

This book is printed on Ashendene paper, made by Batchelor, using Fell types on loan from Oxford University. This is the second book produced by the press, and the first in two columns and with black an red throughout.
