By Clarence Sinclair Bull
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. No binding. Fine. Los Angeles: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, [1933]. Vintage original 10 x 13" (25 x 32 cm) sepia-tinted double weight matte custom photo. Handwritten in pencil on verso: "Rush, Crawford, 1933". Indicated for three 11 x 14" and six 8 x 10" prints. Hand-numbered 4420. Fine. Very few prints were made of this exclusive image, perhaps used for just one publication. In 1933, Joan Crawford appeared in the MGM films Today We Live, Sadie McKee and Dancing Lady (for which this glamour portrait, in which she wears a gown by Adrian, would be used to publicize). Though not photographer stamped, the image is likely by Clarence Bull.
