- Kewanee, Ill: Kewanee Printing & Publishing Co, 1910
Kewanee, Ill: Kewanee Printing & Publishing Co, 1910. Softcover. Near Fine. First edition. 16mo. [16]pp. Stapled printed pale brown wrappers. Slightest wear, about fine. This original schedule primarily served as a vehicle for advertisements of local Kewanee businesses: movie theatre, billiards room, cafes, cigars, political ads, photographers, and boilers (Kewanee was an important source of steam boilers). A schedule for the Central Association, a Midwest minor league, which evolved in 1908 from the Iowa State League, and which included the local Kewanee Boilermakers. Unfortunately by 1910, two of the more memorably named original teams in the Association: the Waterloo Lulus (of Waterloo, Iowa) and the Jacksonville (Illinois) Lunatics, had departed to play in the Illinois–Indiana–Iowa League. The Association operated until 1917, and then was revived for a brief two years after WWII.
