The stories collected here feature Aldin's winning animal characters, such as Peter the Squeaker and Rags, the good pup. A book difficult to find intact, with stunning color spreads. 9.5'' x 8.25''. Original quarter cloth spine, brown paper boards with pictorial paste-on and gilt-lettering to front board. Illustrated by Aldin with 36 mounted color plates, six of which are double page; and 36 full-page black-and-white images. [144] pages. Boards with moderate rubbing and wear, some toning to spine. Front hinge repaired; a bit of foxing primarily around prelims. Sturdy.
