PM was highly influential publication in both historical elements of design, but more importantly the push to modernism. Issues contained articles on the printing process, typography, books and the art/science of advertising; while being profusely illustrated with engravings in both color and b&w, printing samples, tipped in plates and the occasional attached booklet, brochure or other printing sample.
