First edition, first prnt. Full cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Bookplate of Gardner Colby Walworth, Jr. on front pastedown. Touch of shelfwear on the cloth bottom edges, bookstore (likely The Halliday Bookshop in NYC, the source of many of Colby's book purchases) sticker removed from bottom of the front free endpage, pages very slightly age toned; dustjacket with chipping at corners and spine ends, toned spine and light offsetting on the interior of the front panel of the dustjacket's red cross, tear on the front panel upper corner at the spine fold. Printed price intact on the front flap lower corner as issued. Very Good condition in a Very Good dustjacket with an archival cover. Walworth was the son on Gardner Colby whose financial support of Colby College was rewarded with the institution's name change. Spender's second book of poetry. The title poem is the complete text.
