Edward Ardizzone was a central figure in midcentury British children's books, known for his warm and dynamic pen-and-ink drawings with watercolor washes that emphasized everyday adventure. Winner of the inaugural Greenaway Medal (for TIM ALL ALONE, 1956), Aridizonne earned many further accolades and titles, named a CBE, Royal Designer for Industry, and Senior Member of the Royal Academy. 11.5'' x 8.5''.
