This charming work has a very meta vibe, with at least these first three issues being a newspaper about other newspapers and journals. The first issue focuses on The Boys' Friend, while the other two concern "The Magnet Library", "The Empire Library", the "Thri'penny Libraries", and some former boys' writers. The topic must have been of significant interest to William Gander, as the periodical which was "printed and issued occasionally" ran until 1965.
