1970 Original black and white photo of Bob Gibson in a Cardinals uniform. Encased in a PSA slab ("Type I / Authentic"). About fine, with light black mark to verso. Overall, a lovely little photo. Bob Gibson (1935-2020) overcame a number of obstacles, including severe health issues as a child and racial segregation, to become a major leaguer. He played for the Cardinals for seventeen years, picking up nine Gold Glove Awards and nine All-Star selections along the way. Hailed as "one of baseball's greatest competitors" by Stan Musial, Gibson was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 1981 and selected for the prestigious All-Century Team in 1999.. First Edition.
