Guangzhou, China, c.1850-1880. beautifully preserved 19th-century Chinese export pith painting depicting an elegant interior court scene, likely produced in Canton (Guangzhou) for the Western market during the mid to late Qing Dynasty. The composition features a seated mandarin or scholar figure in richly patterned robes, attended by a standing servant holding an object, possibly a document or offering.The painting is presented in an attractive black lacquer frame with gilt ornament, enhancing its visual appeal and making it ready for display. In Very Good condition with vibrant colors and only minor age-related toning visible in the background. No significant losses or damage observed. Frame measures ~13.5in. x 18.25in.
