Paris: Guillaume Despres, 1755. New Edition. In four (out of five) volumes: 2,3,4, & 5. The only other set of this scarce new edition I was able to locate was also lacking volume one (go figure). La Trappe Abbey, also known as La Grande Trappe, is a monastery in Soligny-la-Trappe, Orne, France. It is known for being the house of origin of the Trappists, to whom it gave its name. 12mos, full tree-calf leather bindings, gilt-tooled spines; marbled endpapers. Augmented With Several Biographies Not Previously Published; With A Brief Description Of The Abbey.. Very Good (hinges all tight, little rubbing covers). Insect damage to all volumes, from minor to severe- usually not affecting the text.
