Beige wrappers with embossed floral pattern, printed in red, stapled. Light wear and soiling to wrappers, dark smudge to bottom corner of front cover, else a fine copy. First edition. A program for a Benefit Performance at the Balasco Theatre in New York City on Tuesday, May 22, 1906. The benefit was performed by officers and enlisted men in the US Navy, to help raise money for those in San Francisco affected by the 1906 earthquake and fire. The Program lists 18 acts, including the finale. The acts consisted of a various array of talent, including a monologue, magic act, exhibition drill, a contortionist and strong man, original song, dancing, and a boxing bout. The program includes 5 photographic images of ships in the US Fleet, as well as advertisements for local New York businesses and seating plans for the theater. Only one copy in OCLC.
