JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1767-1848). John Quincy Adams was the Sixth President.DS. 1pg. August 20, 1827. Washington, D. C. A document signed J. Q. Adams as President. He granted 84 acres in Monroe County, Michigan to James Cornell. This was done a decade before Michigan became a state. This patent is issued under the Land Act of 1820, showing the shift from selling massive tracts of land bought by speculators to smaller, more affordable plots bought by individual settlers and farmers. This document is also signed by George Graham, a Virginia planter, lawyer, soldier, and politician who served twice as acting United States Secretary of War. This document is in very fine condition with a dark autograph and professional framing.
