New York: Grosset & Dunlap. Very Good- in Good dj. (c.1938). Reprint. Hardcover. (price-clipped) [good sound copy, light wear to extremities, dust-soiling to top edge of text block, one-time owner's name plus date & place of purchase in ink at top of front endpaper, with an additional text-related note below, ink check-marks next to all titles in the table of contents; the jacket has been unprofessionally "restored" by way of internal tape-reinforcement (along all edges and seams), the replacement of some missing bits of paper at the spine ends, and external touching-up with green ink (mostly around the edges of the front panel), all rather crudely done, but the jacket still presents well in new mylar]. The third and final Philip Trent book, a collection of a dozen short stories, three of which had been published shortly after the debut of the character in Bentley's 1913 novel "Trent's Last Case," with the remainder first appearing in British magazines during 1937 and 1938. .
