Reverend Appleton [1772-1819] discusses the history of the Town of Hampton. "The name which was given to this town by the Aborigines, was Winnicumet. Of the names of the first settlers of Hampton, only sixteen are transmitted to us; and but four of these names yet continue in the place." He names and discusses the pastors of this Church beginning with the first, Stephen Batchelor.
This is apparently Appleton's only published sermon.
