"930 exemplares numerados en arábigo ..." A facsimile reproduction of the original handwritten codex from 1540, currently preserved at the Museum of the Americas in Madrid. The Tudela Codex is a book created in Central Mexico in the mid-16th century. Its production involved the convergence of three distinct types of works. First, around 1540, indigenous painters were commissioned to record information regarding the Mexica religion using images and glyphs from a logosyllabic writing system (the *Libro Indígena*). Second, in 1553-54, a glossator-commentator undertook the task of writing explanatory commentaries for the depicted scenes (the *Libro Escrito Europeo*). Finally, third, sometime after 1554, a third section was added; this section-executed by an artist heavily influenced by Western culture-comprised various portraits of indigenous people as well as a section dedicated to the Templo Mayor (the *Libro Pintado Europeo*). Testimonio Compañía Editorial, Spain. The work presented in this book is a comprehensive summary of the study on the Tudela Codex and the Magliabechiano Group that the author defended to obtain his doctoral degree at the Complutense University. The author has undertaken an in-depth examination-covering every aspect-of a specific volume, the Tudela Codex, subsequently linking it to the entire body of works of similar characteristics to which it gave rise.
