First edition of this rare compilation from English and American authors, according to the preface derived largely from "a very splendid but costly Botanical Encyclopedia, published in London." The text begins with general information on culture and propagation, followed by an alphabetical listing from aconitum to zinnia with an appendix of bulbous plants.
