Hoechst on the Maine, Germany: Farbwerke vorm. Meister, Lucius & Brüning, 1907. A colourful turn-of-the-century trade catalogue, the first produced by this well-known German chemical company. The catalogue contains bright samples of the dyes applied to different textiles including cotton, silk, wool, and leather. Beside each sample group is a chart that provides the dye's commercial name, year of introduction, mode of solution and methods of dyeing. The samples are followed by sections with technical explanations of fixing them on the various fibers and materials as well as means of printing. A valuable and exhaustive resource on the processes and products of dyeing in a very good state of preservation.
