The American edition added nineteen new poems to the selection published in England in 1963. Laid in is the publisher's mimeographed announcement, dated in red ink, "February 17, 1965 price not set", which quotes Richard Eberhart and J. Price Turner on Oliver's poetry. On the inside front wrapper, a label has been added noting the tentative publication date of "1/65?" and the "tentative price $3.75?.
