Leipzig: Fleischer,, 1809.. A single volume from an eighteen volume series by a noted German academic. Zimmermann (1743-1815) was a noted German geographer and zoologist. He wrote Specimen Zoologiae Geographicae Quadrupedum (1777), one of the first works on the geographical distribution of mammals. This volume covers Alaska and Sibera, with illustrations of the native peoples, their dwellings, and a walrus, all pirated versions of plates from Cook's third voyage atlas. A very nice copy of this work, lacking only the map. Not in Ricks, Wickersham, or Lada-Mocarski. 16mo. Contemporary blue wrappers. Minor chipping to top and bottom of spine. Internally clean.
