Lyndon B. Johnson Signs Photograph For Long Time White House Photographer Abbie Rowe Who Was Disabled

It is inscribed To Abbie Rowe - a real pro and credit to his profession from his friend - Lyndon B Johnson. Abbie Rowe was the official White House photographer from 1941 to 1967. Due to an accident during his childhood, one of his legs was a foot shorter than the other. Johnson admired Rowes persistence in overcoming this hardship, bringing the two close together. In addition to this, Rowe was diagnosed with terminal cancer but continued to work and document the Johnson administration as long as his health permitted. This dedication led to Johnson personally presenting Rowe with a commemorative medal on his 61st birthday to honor Rowe's service in 1966. The photograph shows the two men smiling together looking at a picture held between them. This photograph is in fine condition.
