By Ruscha, Edward
[Los Angeles]: Edward Ruscha, 1966. First edition. First edition, first issue with the extra flap at the last fold. Unpaginated accordion-fold pages with numerous black and white panoramic plates printed as if one continuous photograph across the upper and lower sections of all of the pages, housed in original silver foil-covered slipcase. Very Good+ with some offsetting from slipcase/toning to front and rear wraps along spine, spine slightly creased and dust-soiled, in a Near Fine slipcase, lightly rubbed and shelf-worn.

One of only 1,000 copies originally printed of the fold-out conceptual art/ photography book that captured L.A.'s famous Sunset Strip as viewed from a car in two 24 foot+ continuous strips. Rare first printing, identifiable only by an extra 2" flap at the end of the last folded page, the result of the printer's miscalculation. Mentioned in Andrew Roth's Book of 101 Books: Seminal Photographic Books of the Twentieth Century.
