London: Jarrold & Sons, 1905. Limited to 500 copies. Hardbound. G (binding shows some signs of wear; inscription in front, otherwise clean.). Blue cloth with white embossment and bevelled boards. 78 pp., followed by 97 full-page plates, including 25 in color, plus color frontispiece. "Many books have been written, many statements made, and many diverse opinions have been held upon the subject of Lowestoft China. Some authorities deny China was ever made in Lowestoft, while others include in their statements so large a quantity of various descriptions, that the pit which the clay came from would be as big as a large quarry. My endeavours are to try, as far as possible, to elucidate much of the mystery, by careful study of the trouvaille discovered on the site of the Factory itself in 1902, 1903, and 1904." (p. 1) A most uncommon title. #119 of 500 copies. (Inventory #: 106316)
