Frankfurt und Leipzig: 1759 Early (first?) German edition of Jouissance de soi-méme, Caraccioli's (1719-1803) popular conduct book, first published in Paris in 1758. The earliest edition listed by Fromm dates from 1777. The Clark has an edition dated 1768, but none earlier. Contemporary sheep, spine stamped in blind. . Octavo. Woodcut frontisportrait. Marginal tear in D7, cutting into some letters, but with no loss. Some light foxing and browning, lacks free endpapers. A good copy. OCLC lists only two copies of this edition, at Niedersachsische Staats- und Universitatsbibliothek and at UCLA.
