He was commissioned as lieutenant general in the Connecticut Militia in 1811 and appointment as aide de camp to Capt. Gen. Roger Griswold.The behavior of the British at Battle of Groton Heights was one of the low points points of British military honor. Led by the renegade General Benedict Arnold, the British forces continued to slaughter and wound the defending Americans even after they had surrendered.The committee mentioned in the imprint consisted of Elias Perkins, S. F. Denison and James Mitchell, and was formed in order to publish this pamphlet. (Inventory #: 2413)
