Contemporary inscription and engraved bookplate of Elizabeth L. Gould. Gould was the author of Little Women The Play and Little Men The Play, the first theatrical adaptations of Louisa May Alcott's classic tales. The bookplate was designed for Elizabeth Gould by Josephine Bruce, well-know illustrator of children's books. A fine association copy of an Arts and Crafts period American trade binding.
