Dublin: James Williams, 1777. First Edition.. full 18th cent. calf; rebacked.. A very good copy; some occ. dustiness.. 12mo. Engraved title page. [6], (1)2 - 244 pp.
An unusual descriptive low life ramble set out in a series of numbered descriptions and vignettes of life (characters appear in some of the vignettes). There is hardly a topic the author does not consider and ridicule. At times this appears a jest book. There is no London edition (as the Dublin imprint may lead one to suspect) and the ESTC and NUC cite only this printing. The book is well done and quite funny in parts. Greenough p. 224.
