Mettler comments that this book was, 'one of the most popular therapeutic works in the middle of the seventeenth century'. The book is a complete guide to treatments of all kinds omitting only surgical procedure. It is classified by disease or complaint supplying the causes and signs while recommending cures. The work is ambitious including chapters on palsey and paralysis, 'A method serving for the knowledge of Melancholy or Black Choler' etc.. The cures make use of the entire range of medicinal plants; each is identified as is the compound and preparation. New STC #3930; Mettler p. 372.
