Beger's tract was the first in a series edited by Cunier of important works in ophthalmology. Ammon wrote the introduction. The work deals with problems when blood invades the eye cavity; particular attention is paid to pathology and therapy. The book is closely argued and the illus. are detailed and beautifully executed. It is worth noting that the publisher has affixed a printed slip to the inside of the front cover urging interested parties to order their own copies quickly because only a small print run was ordered. Absent from Becker; see Hirsch.
