Bunsen's treatise on gases. The translator, Roscoe, was a student of Bunsen's and is responsible for adding three conversion tables to this translation not present in the German printing of the same year. Bunsen's work found application in smelting and the production of ferrous metals and was among the first theoretical publications to have a significant immediate financial impact on an industry.
