A interesting letter from a Col. Bruce to Wm. Crawford (Sect'y. of the Army ?) seekng compensation for medical charges that were incurred during the illness of Crawford's father. The charges are documented in the letter and go back some ten years. Bruce is complaining to Crawford that he had been libelled by the other physician (noted only as Scott) retained in the case. The stipulated charges cover advice, medicines, and bleeding. (Inventory #: 5690)
