A difficult book to find in such fresh condition. Ure undertook this revision at the suggestion of the publisher. The Nicholson Dictionary was out of date and Ure had to revise the entire book.The introduction gives a general view of chemistry and a suggested order of reading for study. The plates are bright clear impressions of chemical experiment set - ups, mineral crystal forms etc. . This copy also retains the original inserted window advertisement for Berthollet's book on dyeing. Cole #1304.
