By the important New York publisher of the American Coast Pilot and many other sea manuals, including this very nice example of his Tables for computing Tonnage. Blunt's "Measurer" became the standard American manual, and went through several editions since the first of 1825. Interestingly, Blunt's book ends with a discussion of calculating volumes of casks of wine and beer.
