[New York], 1790. 1 vols. 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches. Some light browning but generally in very good condition. 1 vols. 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches. This would have been Killian K. Van Rensselaer, (1763-1845), a lawyer and representing New York in Congress from the Seventh Congress (1801) through the Eleventh Congress (1811). Peter Rushton Maverick (1755-1807), originally a silversmith and from an engraving family in England, was a New York engraver and designer, primarily of bookplates. He was the teacher of his son, Peter Maverick, who became well known as an engraver of book illustrations and also Francis Kearney and William Dunlap, each a very proficient and successful engraver.
