1950. ("June Allyson") in black fountain pen ink on 1/2 length portrait wearing a white blouse, with long flowing hair, holding both hands to the back of her hair. Photograph is on heavy weight stock; 7 1/4" x 9 1/4"; very good (traces of mounting on verso; slightly trimmed). ca. 1950. Boldly signed and inscribed: "Best Wishes to L. Allen Smith June Allyson." Provenance: from the collection of publicist and autograph collector L. Allen Smith. June Allyson (1917-2006), born October 17, Bronx, New York; died July 8, 2006, Ojai, California; husky-voiced American leading lady; film career 1937-1982; including: "Little Woman" 1949; "The Glenn Miller Story" 1954; "The Shrike" 1955; starred in her own television series "The June Allyson Show" 1959-61; married to actor Dick Powell 1945-63 until his death..
