Thin octavo. viii, 24pp. Original engraved frontispiece. Printed in blue and black. Handset Lutetia type. Blue boards, blue labels printed and decorated in gold on spine and front cover. Spine slightly faded, very slight chipping to spine label, else a very fine copy. The full-page frontispiece, "San Francisco in 1849," is from a proof pulled from the original plate engraved by W. L. Ormsby about 1870 after the painting by G.W. Casilear. This copy includes a presentation inscription, SIGNED by the author to Harry F. Fortmann, President of the Alaska Packers Association and Bohemian Club member: "To Harry F. Fortmann. Sir: One privileged to be among those chosen for the Winter Camp at Bohemian Grove affectionately salutes you, Edward F. O'Day, Feb. 20, 1936." [Grabhorn: 236]..
