Memoirs of a minister who, in 1851, traveled from Illinois to Oregon, where he settled in Portland. His subsequent travels took him to California: San Francisco, Stockton (where he built a church), Santa Rosa, etc. From California, he recounts his adventures to and at the Powder River mines in Eastern Oregon as a prospector and miner.
