Roy Campbell (1901-1957) was a South African poet, literary critic, literary translator, war poet and satirist. He moved to England where he and his wife Mary settled in with Harold Niolson and Vita Sackville-West, becoming members of the Bloomsbury Group. Mary became involved with Vita in a lesbian romance. Campbell became a translator of Garcia Lorca. "Upon its publication the poem (Flaming Terrapin) brought the Campbells (Roy and Mary) easy entry into the highest circles of British Literature" (Wikipedia) .
