(13 x 9 1/4 inches), newly bound in period style quarter morocco over marbled sides with hidden morocco corners, red morocco title label on the spine; all edges marbled. Some light, widespread foxing but generally a clean attractive copy. For each of the twenty-five artists represented, Mr. Corner has produced an engraved portrait within a frame, after an existing painting or drawing. In the lower margin of each, he has reproduced a miniature of one of the artists' well known works, or a detail there from. The engravings are printed on India paper, which has been pasted onto to the page opposite a short biography of the artist. The list of artists includes many of the world's best known painters from Europe and the United Kingdom: Vandyck, Titian, Raphæl, Durer, Holbein, Caracci, and Sir Peter Lely to mention but a few.
