Photographer Acevedo created a series of documentary/fine art photographs to portray what he calls the forgotten towns and people of Chile between 1995 and 2005. Acevedo traveled through 67 rural towns of central Chile and visited the 4 largest mental asylums of the country, capturing in his sepia images the beauty and also the loneliness of the rural people and of those psychologically confined. All images are accompanied by poetry from Charles Pierre Baudelaire (b. France 1821-1867). Acevedo has won a number of scholarships and prizes for his photographs, including: Beca Kodak Chile, Fondart, Premio Ford Motor Company and Beca Fundación Andes. (Inventory #: 83545)
