Oxford: printed by the University Printers, 1695, with sectional title for the N.T. (with 17th century family inscriptions on verso); bound with: The Whole Book of Psalms, collected into English Metre, by Thomas Sternhold, John Hopkins, and others... London: printed for the Company of Stationers, 1700. Contemporary and probably original full brown goatskin, with acorn, flower, and leaf ornaments enclosing a central panel with the initials "I.H." central on both covers (surely John Hawkins whose name is prominent in the inscription on the verso of the N.T. title-p.); gilt spine in 6 compartments with tulips and other ornaments; the covers rubbed, and the front hinge is cracked revealing structure; Bible lacks leaf A12, and with small corner of O9 torn away (affecting the better part of 9 lines of text); other short marginal tears and creases throughout. Wing B3702, B2366 and B2623B respectively (the last with only the BM copy located). Bible is Darlow & Moule 840.
