Inside dentelles in gilt. Hinges starting. This book is in three parts. Part 1 covers "Hymns with Tunes," part 2 "Litanies And Chants," and part 3 entails "Anthems." Harmonies in part 1 were revised by E.J. Hopkins. Josiah Booth arranged the pointing and selected the music in part 2 and also edited part 3 with George S. Barrett. This book was edited for "The Congregational Union of England and Wales." The book contains 775 hymns, 8 metrical litanies, 20 Canticles pointed for chanting, a metrical version of the Dies Irae, 125 portions of psalms or other passages of scripture also pointed for chanting, and 120 Anthems. Overall in good condition.
